At GAEA, our team goes above and beyond to serve clients and create aesthetically-pleasing, functional spaces… not because it’s our job, but because it’s what we’re all passionate about.

Each of our team members have unique interests and experiences that led them to where they are today. Keep reading to hear what they had to say about working in the industry, life at our firm, and why they’re so passionate about architecture in general.

Sara (Architectural Associate)

“I’ve wanted to be an architect since I was 10 years old. I love helping people and creating spaces where they feel happy, safe, and at home—and being an architect allows me to do that. They say team work makes the dream work, and that’s especially true at GAEA. We’re a team and a family.”

Stuart (AIA, LEED AP)

“Being an architect is a rare profession in which you have the opportunity to improve the lives of others, while expressing your own creativity in a tactile manner. It’s rather amazing to drive through town and see buildings you helped bring to life… In a funny way, it’s like raising kids and watching them grow up.

At our office, we really are a family, and while we all have a serious job to do at the end of the day, we also realize that a happy employee makes for happy architecture.”

Alex (Architectural Associate)
“Architecture combines art and science to provide solutions for any environment. This is a passion of mine because it comes with a rewarding end result. I like seeing individuals and communities prosper from the solutions we develop directly.”

Christina (Interior Designer, NCIDQ, RID, IIDA)

“The design profession is unique. We get to follow concepts from inspiration to implementation and create spaces that impact end users from both a physical and psychological standpoint. I also love how often we get to interact with clients and meet new people.

Each day is different in this industry, with its own set of challenges… but the benefits of completed spaces that our clients and their customers love outweigh any challenge we face.”

Cara (Controller, CPA)

“In my role, I get to work with everyone on all projects, which means having a strong team culture is important. For the past 12 years, the team here has made it easy and enjoyable to come to work every day. I believe everyone benefits from that kind of helpful, understanding work environment, including our clients.”

Greg Slack (Business Development/Project Manager)

“It’s been said, but architecture is truly a rewarding profession. It allows us to bring someone’s vision and dream to life. Seeing a client’s face when we achieve those milestones keeps me motivated and ready for the next challenge.

Even on our busiest days, our team always seems to find the time to relax and have fun. Whether it’s a quick game of pool or laughing together during an impromptu meeting around a coworker’s desk, we really do treat each other like family… and that’s why I’ve been with GAEA for 22 years!”

Whitney (Interior Design Associate)

“As an interior designer, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a design transform from paper to reality. It’s a joy getting to create spaces that clients not only love, but that serve them functionally for years to come.”

Haven (Architectural Associate)

“Seeing a well-designed building improve its inhabitants’ lives is amazing. This industry gives me the chance to work on a wide variety of projects and I value getting to collaborate with our team and clients throughout the entire design process.”

Trevor (Architectural Intern)

“Architecture bridges my empathy for people with my passion for being creative. Working at GAEA has been a breath of fresh air. The team welcomed me into their family with open arms. Everyone here pitches in to help each other and we all learn something new every day.”

Jack (Architectural Associate)

“Personally, I enjoy the process and challenge of ‘making’. It’s important to me to be part of a team that’s talented, hardworking, and that treats each other as family. That’s the GAEA team.”

Cindy (Office Administrator)

“I can say that what I enjoy about working here is that it feels like family.”
